Entry qualification and experience	Training schedule
Master (FG) Licence from the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt, of India/or equivalent having been a Chief Officer for a period not less than 1 year.	2 months in Harbour side, 1 month at Haldia and 1 month divided between Sagar and DH anchorages. (2+1+1 months)
From the rank of Lt. Cdr/ Commandant (JG), from Navy/ Coastguard, having general duty background and having been in command of the vessel or as executive officer or as Navigating Officer for a total period being not less than 2 years/ or equivalent.	3 months in Harbour side, 2 months at Haldia and 1 month divided between Sagar and DH anchorages. (3+2+1 month)
Mate (FG)/Master (NCV)/or equivalent having an experience of not less than 1 year as Chief Officer of an FG  vessel/ Master (NCV).	3 months in Harbour side, 2 months at Haldia and 1 month divided between Sagar and DH anchorages. (3+2+1 months)
2nd Mate (FG) Licence/or equivalent having an experience of not less than 3 years as 2nd Officer on board a vessel	4 months in Harbour side, 3 months at Haldia and 2 months divided between Sagar and DH anchorages. (4+3+2 months)
B.Sc. Nautical Science from a Govt. of India recognized Institute/ or equivalent with minimum of 65% marks or equivalent in grade overall.	5 months at Haldia, 5 months in Harbour side and 4 months divided between Sagar and DH anchorages. (5+5+4 months)

After completion of training as above, the candidates will be examined by the Marine Board of Examiners for certification as Anchorage Pilots.
(iv) On completion of training, the candidates will be given a monthly consolidated emolument of Rs. 40,000/-, during the training period, the monthly consolidated remuneration will be as follows:-

a) Master (FG) : Rs.35,000/-
b) Lt.Cdr/Commandant (JG)/ Mate (FG)/Master (NCV) & equivalent : Rs.30,000/-
c) 2nd Mate (FG) : Rs.25,000/-
d) B.Sc. Nautical Science : Rs.20,000/-

In addition, the candidates may be granted the following:-
