USIEF seeks results-oriented candidates with professional experience and a desire to excel for the following two positions at its Delhi Office:
1. Manager - Indian Program
Basic Functions of the Position:
Reporting to the Senior Program Officer-Indian Program (SPO-IP), the incumbent plans and manages all program functions related to fellowships for Indian citizens including dissemination of fellowship information to prospective applicants and conducting the review/selection process. In coordination with the Senior Program Officer, s/he plans and facilitates the pre-departure orientation for outgoing Indian scholars; participates in the outreach programs in the Northern region; and contributes to the preparation of fellowship publicity materials. S/he is also responsible for maintaining and developing key Indian contacts, including those with alumni and engaging in strategic planning and program development, and media relations.
The incumbent's major duties and responsibilities include:
1. Plans and manages all program functions related to fellowship programs for Indian citizens.
2. Responsible for compiling statistics and writing analytical reports on trends in Indian program. The incumbent would be also responsible for writing reports on the fellowship programs for Board meetings, USIEF publications, including Annual Report and Newsletter, Strategic Planning committees, Press Releases and other submissions. H/she would be responsible for preparing applicants profile, drafting minutes of meetings and candidate-nomination justification.
3. Assists SPO-IP in planning and holding outreach and mentoring programs in under-served regions, under-represented/minority and other institutions. Also, h/she plans and conducts specialized outreach programs to recruit scholars in the fields emphasized by USIEF.
4. In coordination with the SPO-IP, will plan and facilitate the pre-departure orientation for outgoing Indian scholars, mentoring workshops and other program events.
5. Assist in maintaining a database of key Indian contacts, including Fulbright alumni.
6. Responsible for keeping track of content, including editing the Indian program section on the official website.
7. Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Program Officer-Indian Program.
Eligibility:
The ideal candidate would be a postgraduate in any discipline, with at least eight years of relevant supervisory experience in professional environment. S/he should have very strong written and spoken English. Understanding of academic and business ethics, team work, networking and public speaking skills are essential prerequisites. The candidate should be able to work independently. Creativity and problem solving skills are assets.
Compensation:
Rs. 4.77 lakhs per annum + annual benefits (approximately Rs 1.60 lakhs per annum)
2. U.S. Program Manager (Teachers)
Basic Functions of the Position:
Under the supervision of the U.S. Program Officer, the incumbent manages the English Teaching Assistantship and teacher exchange grants for U.S. scholars, is responsible for organizing the outreach activities and events around Fulbrighters in Northern region, coordinates with USIEF staff with regard to grant, travel and other formalities for selected scholars and is responsible for up-to-date information regarding the U.S. program on the website including the information tracking system of grantees. The incumbent also assists the Program Officer in planning and organizing the Fulbright conference, orientation programs, other activities of the program and aids the Program Officer in maintaining and developing key contacts, including those with alumni.
The incumbent's major duties and responsibilities include:
1. Under supervision of Program Officer, manages different aspects of the English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) Program, the U.S. component of the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program, and other programs for U.S. Teachers.
2. Manages Program publications such as grantee booklets, brochures and website, and drafts Program inputs for different USIEF publications.
3. Assists the Program Officer in the following to enhance USIEF outreach in India and the U.S.
4. Analyzes the final reports of all category grantees of one fiscal year, and feedback received from academic host institutions and presents report to the Program Officer
5. Assists the Program Officer in strategic planning and setting the agenda for the U.S. Program by providing inputs towards identifying key thrust areas, annual goals and annual work plans.
6. Assists the Program Officer in planning, designing and execution of various program events for deepening grantee interface, including the orientation program for ETAs, Fulbright conferences and major seminars/workshops.
7. Any other activity assigned by the Program Officer.
Eligibility: Masters' Degree preferably in Social Sciences or Humanities or Arts with a minimum of five years experience in professional or supervisory capacity in higher education sector.
