Minimum Requirements: MBBS with an advanced degree in any of the following disciplines: Public Health, Medicine, Health Research, International Health, Health Policy & Management, Environmental Health Sciences, Family Health, Biostatistics, Socio-medical Sciences, Epidemiology, Health Education, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Educational Interventions in Health Care, Nursing or a field relevant to international development assistance in Health. Five years of professional work experience at the State/National level in programme development, monitoring & implementation of primary health care programmes including experience in field-based implementation, experience in management of young child survival and development. Awareness of the technical support required in health related emergency and humanitarian preparedness will be an asset. Demonstrated experience in Health Policy analysis and influencing is required. Managerial and analytical skills are essential attributes. Experience of working in the UN or other international development organization will be an asset.

N.B. Candidates selected for GDMO (Specialist) in E2 Grade shall be considered to the post of Medical Specialist in E3 Grade through interview after having minimum 1-year post-qualification experience for PG Degree and 3 yrs. post-qualification experience for PG Diploma.

Qualification (As on. 31.03.2011): MBBS from a recognized Institute/College approved by Medical Council of India/State Medical Council with minimum 60% marks
In case grade/ grade point etc. is awarded instead of marks, a certificate from the Registrar of University/ Head of the Institute is to be submitted regarding specific equivalent percentage.
