Walk in Interview:  Junior Research Fellow

The Information Technology Division, Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) invite applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the field of Networking, Java and Web development purely on temporary basis.

Essential Qualification: Graduate degree (BE/ BTech or equivalent degree in the field of IT/ Computer Science/ Electronics and Communications) or Post Graduate Degree (MCA).
Essential Experience:

JRF(Networking)- A minimum of one year proven experience in Managing LAN/WAN networks (MPLS technology), video conferencing;

JRF (Java)- One year experience in software development with Java technologies viz: Studs, Hybernate, JSF and Oracle database

JRF (Web Development) - one year experience in web development using php, MySQL, Photoshop and Flash technologies.

Upper Age Limit : The upper age limit for candidates is 28 years as on 01.04.2012; upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC / Physically Challenged categories.
Emoluments: Rs. 12,000/- per month plus HRA as per rules.
Selection Criteria: Selection shall be made on the basis of their qualification, experience and their performance in interview followed by a skill test for shortlisted candidates. Decision of the Director General, ICFRE shall be final.

A certain number of JRFs are awarded each year by Institute to those holding MSc or equivalent degree, with minimum 55% marks after qualifying the National Eligibility Test ( NET) conducted by CSIR twice in a year The candidates who have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET), conducted by CSIR t may approach Institute for JRF. The validity of NER is one year. The candidate is expected to register for Ph.D degree within a period of one year from the date of joining. The stipend of a JRF selected through the all India test will be Rs 8000/ p.m for a period of 2 years. In addition, annual contingent grant of Rs. 20,000/- per fellow will be provided..

CSIR’s GATE qualified Junior Research Fellowship for PhD for Engineering Graduates
CSIR has introduced a new research fellowship in 2002 for the GATE qualified candidates with BE/ BTech/ BArch/ BPharm degree to pursue research leading to PhD. This will be known as the GATE qualified Junior Research Fellowship (JRF-GATE). JRF’s selected under this scheme will have excellent opportunity to work with the CSIR scientists with state-of-art R&D facility and obtain PhD degree. Fresh BE/ B Tech degree holders with valid GATE score may apply .The candidates will have to pursue Ph.D. MTech candidates (either with BTech/ MTech or with MSc/ MTech) are not eligible for this fellowship. The fellowship is to be given to a candidate for a total duration of five years within which the candidate is required to complete the PhD degree. This fellowship amount is Rs 8000/- plus HRA per month. In addition, contingency grant of Rs 20,000/- per annum is available.

Research Associateship (RA)
A certain number of RA-ships may be awarded each year directly by CSIR to young research workers who have shown promise in original research and propose to pursue research work in science, engineering, medicine or technology on specific projects. The Associate will do full time research work on problems stated in his/her application and approved by CSIR. Under this scheme, persons possessing Doctorate (PhD/MD/MS/MDS) or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/MPharm/ME/MTech will be eligible for award as RA.

The Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education is a Society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, with its registered office at New Forest Campus, Dehradun. The mandate of the Council is to advise on formulation of forestry research policy and to organize, direct and manage forestry research and education for the whole Country. The Director General is the Chief Executive Officer of the Council. The ICFRE is in search of an eminent Scientist/Forester, for appointment to the post of the Director General of Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Dehradun.

2. Applications are accordingly invited for the post of Director General, ICFRE in the Apex pay scale of Rs.80,000/-(fixed) plus usual allowances as admissible under ICFRE rules at Dehradun. The eligibility conditions for the post and its job requirements are indicated below:-

(A) Eligibility and Educational Qualifications:-
Officers/Scientists of the Central/State Governments/ UT Administration/ Universities/ Recognized Research Institutes/Semi-Government or Autonomous Organizations serving in the pay scale of HAG Rs.67,000-79,000/-(annual increment @ 3%) or equivalent grades or above, should not be above 58 years of age on 07.11.2010 (i.e. born on or after 08.11.1952), which the competent authority may relax in cases where the age of superannuation has been increased by the Government of India/State Governments/Autonomous Bodies/Government Undertakings, and possessing the following qualifications:-

(I) For Scientists:
(a) First class Post Graduate degree in Forestry/ Botany/ Agriculture or other related Sciences or equivalent or First Class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or
Technology from a recognized university or Institution.
(b) A minimum of 30 years of service with reference to the date of appointment as Group ‘A’ Scientist having background in Forestry Research which should include
administrative experience for at least 5 years, as on the last date of application, i.e. 07.12.2010.
(c) Evidence of published research papers

Desirable : Doctorate in Forestry or other related sciences.
(II) For members of Indian Forest Service:
(a) An officer of the Indian Forest Service serving at the level of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests or above in a State Government/U.T.
Administration/Central Government/ other organizations and having completed 30 years of service with reference to the year of allotment.
(b) Should have atleast 5 years experience in Forestry Research OR 3 years experience in Forestry Research and 2 years experience in Forestry Education/Forestry Extension as on last date of application, i.e. 07.12.2010.
Desirable: Doctorate in Forestry or other related sciences.
