National Institute of Unani Medicine has been developed as a centre of excellence for PG Teaching and Research in Unani Medicine by Dept. of AYUSH, Govt. of India. Presently MD courses are available in 5 disciplines of Unani Medicine viz Moalajat, Ilmul Advia, Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib, Amraze Niswan wa Ilmul Qabala and Ilmul Saidla. The Institute is starting PG courses in Kulliyat Umoore Tabiya, Ilajbit Tadbeer and Jarahiyat from next Academic Session. Hence, to appoint excellent staff in the Institute, applications are invited for the following posts in the existing and new departments on Deputation /Direct / Contract Basis.

Unani Specialities
Professors – (UR) : 01 each in concerned discipline - on Deputation / Direct / Contract
Basis in Ilmul Advia, Ilmul Saidla, Kulliyat Umoore Tabiya, Regimenal Therapy , Amraze, Niswan wa Ilmul Qabala and Jarahiyat.
Pay Band: Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 with Grade Pay of Rs. 8,700 /- Ages: 50 years.
Essential: 1). Degree in Unani Medicine with 60% marks from a University established by Law or a Statutory board / Faculty / Examining Body of Indian medicine included in II schedule of IMCC Act, 1970. 2). Post Graduate qualification in Unani Medicine in the concerned discipline from a University established by Law or a Statutory board / Faculty / Examining Body of Indian medicine included in II schedule of IMCC Act, 1970. 3). Teaching experience in a recognized Institution for 10 years. 4). Original published papers / books on the subject.

Reader –(UR) : 01 each in concerned discipline - on Deputation / Direct/ Contract Basis
in Ilmul Saidla, Kulliyat Umoore Tabiya, Regimenal Therapy , and Jarahiyat.
Pay Band: Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 7,600/- Age: 50 years.
Essential: 1). Degree in Unani Medicine with 60% marks from a University established by Law or a statutory board / Faculty / Examining Body of Indian medicine included in II schedule of IMCC Act, 1970. 2). Post Graduate qualification in Unani Medicine in the concerned discipline from a recognized University established by Law or a statutory board / Faculty / Examining Body of Indian medicine included in II schedule of IMCC Act, 1970. 3). Teaching experience in a recognized Institution for five years. 4). Original published papers / books on the subject.

Lecturers - (UR): 02 each in concerned discipline - on Direct / Deputation/ Contract

Essential: 1) Degree in Unani of a recognized University /Statutory / Faculty / Council/ or equivalent and included in II schedule of CCIM Act, 1970. 2) M.D. /MS Unani, in Clinical subjects. 3). Enrolment on the Central Register of CCIM or State Register of ISM. 4) Knowledge of Arabic/Urdu /Persian.

Walk-in written test and interview will be held for candidates from Indian nationals for a project on Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL), a collaborative project between Department of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The project is implemented by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research at Human Resource Development Centre Campus, Sector 19, Central Government Enclave, Kamla Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad-201002 (UP) under the guidance of Senior Advisor and Director, TKDL Unit, CSIR, Rafi Marg, New Delhi. The selection will be for the following posts which are purely on temporary and contract basis, initially for a period of one year or the duration of the project, whichever is earlier.

Walk-in Written Test and Interview:

Written test and interviews for Project Assistants (Analysis and Monitoring), Scientists (Analysis & Monitoring (Chemistry), Scientists (Analysis and Monitoring) (Botany), Unani Expert (Analysis & Monitoring) and Unani Expert at SI. Nos. 1,3,4,5 and 6 above will be held on 10.11.2010 (Wednesday); for Junior Unani Experts at SI. No. 7 above will be held on 12.11.2010 (Friday) and Project Assistants (Sr.) at SI. No. 2 and Stenographers at SI. no. 8 above will be held on 24.11.2010 (Wednesday);. Written test for candidates for Project Assistants at SI. Nos. 1 and 2 will comprise questions on Logic and Reasoning and Technical aspects whereas for Scientists (Analysis and Monitoring) at SI. no. 3 and 4, Unani Experts (Analysis and Monitoring) at SI. No. 5, Unani Experts at SI. No. 6 and Junior Unani Experts at SI. No. 7 the questions will be on the Technical aspects.

The written and typing test will be held for Stenographers at SI. no. 8. Written tests will comprise basics of computers.

All the written tests on all the days will be held at 10.00 AM and the candidates must report at the office of CCRUM at 9.00 AM on the dates mentioned for each posts. The interviews of the short-listed candidates will take place at 2.00 PM on the same day.

The candidates must bring original certificates/testimonials at the time of test/interview along with two copies of attested photographs and a set of attested copies of certificates/testimonials in support of age, educational qualification, mark obtained, experience and caste/tribe etc. The candidates must also bring a copy of their bio-data neatly typed on A4 paper on the date of the written test for registration. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the test/interview.
