The Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) is one of the autonomous institutes under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The objective of IBSD is to develop and utilize the rich bioresources of the Northeastern Region of the country through the application of modern tools of biology and biotechnology. Currently the Institute has its Headquarters in Imphal, Manipur and a Regional Centre in Gangtok, Sikkim. The institute invites application for the following posts in its Headquarters at Imphal and Regional Centre at Gangtok:

Posts In IBSD Headquarters At Imphal, Manipur
1.    One Scientist – E: (Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology)
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000+GP 8700
Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Plant Biotechnology /Horticulture / Life Sciences/
biotechnology or equivalent with specialization in plant molecular biology/plant genomics /
phytocellular technology having at least eleven years research experience or Ph.D. in the above
subjects with at least ten years research experience.

2.    One Scientist – E: (Natural Product Chemistry)
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000+GP 8700
Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Phytochemistry/Organic Chemistry or
equivalent with specialization in natural product chemistry having at least eleven years research
experience or Ph.D in the above subjects with at least ten years research experience.
Desirable: Research experience in the area of natural product chemistry / phytochemistry and should
be capable of guiding and supervising research programmes of the division on chemical prospecting
of bioresources.
3.    One Scientist – E: (Aquaculture)
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000+GP 8700
Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Fishery Sciences/Zoology or equivalent with specialization
in aquaculture with at least eleven years research experience or Ph.D. in the above subjects with at
least ten years research experience.
4.    One Scientist – C: (Natural Product Chemistry)
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000+GP 8700
Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Phytochemistry/Organic Chemistry or
equivalent with specialization in natural product chemistry having at least five years research
experience or Ph.D in the above subjects with at least four years research experience.

5.    One Scientist – C: (Economic Entomology)
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100+GP 6600
Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Life Sciences/Zoology/Entomology or equivalent with
specialization in economic Entomology having at least five years research experience or Ph.D. in the
above subjects with at least four years research experience.

6.    One Stores and Purchase officer (on contractual basis)
Salary Structure : Rs. 20,000/- p.m. (Consolidated)
Essential Qualification: Graduate degree (preferably in commerce) from a recognized University.
Preference will be given to candidates with PG diploma in materials management with minimum 3-
years experience in Government /autonomous bodies or an organization of repute. Candidates should
be well versed with local and foreign purchase, import and export and also have analytical and good
communication skill (oral and written)

Posts In Regional Centre of IBSD At Gangtok, Sikkim

1.    One Scientist – (Plant Bioresources)
Salary Structure: Rs. 48,000/- p.m. (Consolidated)
Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. with seventeen years experience or 1st class M.Tech. / MD / MVsc / M.Pharm / M.Biotech with sixteen years Research and Development experience or Ph.D. or corresponding degrees in relevant disciplines with original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of leadership with sixteen years or R&D experience.

2.    One Scientist – (Microbial Resources)
Salary Structure: Rs. 30,000/- p.m. (Consolidated)
Essential Qualification: 1st class M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Microbiology / Biotechnology with three years R&D experience or Ph.D. with one year post doctoral experience in the relevant field.

3.    One Administrative officer
Salary Structure: Rs. 25,000/- p.m. (Consolidated)
Essential Qualification: Graduate degree, preferably in commerce with Post Graduate Degree
/ Diploma in Administration or Human Resource Management with a minimum of 2 years experience in handling administration and personnel matters.

Name of Post: Chairperson of Sikkim Electricity Regulatory Commission.
The headquarter of the Commission shall be at Gangtok.
The Chairperson of the Commission shall be the Chief Executive of the Commission.
The Chairperson shall not hold any other office.
The Chairperson shall hold office for a term of five years from the date he enters upon his office, or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
The salary, allowances and other terms and conditions of service of the Chairperson shall be such as may be prescribed by the Government of Sikkim.

The Commission shall start functioning from the date to be notified by Government of Sikkim in the Official Gazette. Candidate for the post should be a person of ability, integrity and standing who has adequate knowledge of, and has shown capacity in, dealing with problems relating to engineering, finance, commerce, economics, law or management.
