BEML Limited is a pioneering Multi Business (Rail & Metro, Mining & Construction, Aerospace, Dredging and Defence) Heavy Engineering Company. As a part of its business expansion plan its Defence Business group has taken up Tank related activities viz., Manufacturing & Overhauling of Tanks (BMP/T-72) and Manufacturing of Aggregates for different types of tanks. Apart from the above, the Company has forayed into Aerospace Business viz., Manufacturing of Aerospace Components, Sub-Assemblies, Tools, Jigs & Fixtures, GHE/GSE and also MRO of Aircrafts and Helicopters in the years to come. In addition to its manufacturing facilities at Mysore, a full fledged manufacturing plant is expected to come up in March, 2012 at the Aerospace SEZ for export activity. Plans are afoot to establish a dedicated Aerospace Research & Development Centre.
