Basic Function of Position

Incumbent is responsible for planting and maintaining the trees, flowers, shrubs and lawns at the Consulate and Principal Officer’s residence.
Prepares soil and plants, cultivates, fertilizers, waters, sprays, prunes and transplants shrubs, trees, vegetables, flowering plants, perennial and annual flowers. Pots certain plants and maintains them for indoor display. Seeds, fertilizes, waters and generally maintains lawns.
Sweeps and keeps outside areas clean and free of debris.

Qualifications required:

• •    Completion of Elementary school (V STD) is required.
• •    One year experience as Gardener is required.
• •    Level I (rudimentary) in English and Level I in Tamil are required.
• •    A good working knowledge of how to plant and take care of plants and flowers typical of the area is required.

Must have ability to use tools of the trade.
